First served as appointed trustee by finishing her husband’s term after he passed away in 2009. She was then elected in November 2013 to her first four-year term as trustee, then re-elected in 2017 and 2021. Haar is the current chair of the board and has been since 2018. Her goal for the township is to continue the excellent working relationship between the Township and the Village of Elmore, and with the Ottawa County Engineer’s office. Haar has been a lifelong resident of Harris Township and was a member of the first graduating class of Woodmore High School in 1969. She holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Education from the University of Toledo. Having taught for 31 years, she retired from the Oregon City Schools in 2004. She is an active member of the Ottawa County Township Association and the Ohio Township Association. Beverly and her late husband, John C., have two married children and six grandchildren.
