First elected November 1999 for Harris Township Trustee, and reelected for five more terms. He has served as board chairman, vice-chairman, and on various leadership committees. Jerry was a Harris Township fireman for 36 years, and fire chief for 14 years. He owned and operated his own business, Jerry Haar Excavating, for 46 years until his retirement. He is a longtime resident of Harris Township and raised in this community. Jerry still resides in Harris Township with his wife, Melody, and their dog.
